Xiaomi Redmi A3 Pro Review: A Budget-Friendly Performer

Posted on November 17, 2024November 17, 2024 by Nilis Mawutin

The Xiaomi Redmi A3 Pro is a recent addition to Xiaomi’s budget lineup, offering reliable performance, a sizable display, and impressive battery life. Released in October 2024, the Redmi A3 Pro is designed to cater to users seeking a cost-effective smartphone without compromising on essential features.

Design and Build

The Redmi A3 Pro sports a modern yet simplistic design with an IPS LCD display measuring 6.88 inches. The screen has a 720 x 1640 resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate, ensuring smoother scrolling and basic gaming performance. With a body measuring 171.9 x 77.8 x 8.2 mm, it’s comfortable to handle, though the 260 PPI pixel density might not satisfy those accustomed to higher-resolution displays.

Performance and Software

Powered by a budget-friendly chipset, the A3 Pro features 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage (expandable via a dedicated microSD slot). The device runs on Android 14 with Xiaomi’s MIUI skin, offering user-friendly customization and regular updates.

Cameras

The Redmi A3 Pro’s dual rear camera setup includes a 50MP primary sensor, delivering decent results in well-lit conditions. The auxiliary lens supports additional functionality, though details are modest. A single front-facing camera allows for 1080p video recording, suitable for selfies and video calls. However, low-light performance is not its strong suit.

Battery Life

One of the highlights of this phone is its 5160mAh battery, which offers all-day usage for typical activities. While it supports 10W wired charging, the absence of faster charging options might be a drawback for users who prioritize quick top-ups.

Connectivity and Features

The device supports dual SIM functionality, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4, and NFC (region-dependent). It also includes a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, ensuring quick and secure access. The inclusion of a 3.5mm headphone jack and stereo speakers enhances its multimedia experience.

Verdict

The Xiaomi Redmi A3 Pro is a solid choice for budget-conscious consumers seeking a reliable smartphone for everyday tasks. While it doesn’t boast cutting-edge specs or 5G connectivity, its large battery, decent camera performance, and competitive price point make it a strong contender in the entry-level segment. For users looking for a device for casual use, this could be a great pick.
